The Elder Board is overjoyed to inform you that
Pastor Nic Gibson has accepted the call to be Senior Pastor at High Point Church!!

Pastor Nic Gibson was one of the first applicants considered by the Pastoral Search Committee back in August of last year, and has consistently risen to the top of the candidate list throughout the search process.  Last December, three members of the Pastoral Search Committee traveled to Panama City, Florida, to visit Pastor Nic, his wife Alexi, and their three children Abigail, Rachael Claire, and Jude.  In the middle of January, Pastor Nic and Alexi visited HPC for meetings with the Pastoral Search Committee, elders, and staff.  During the week of March 7th, he was officially introduced to the congregation. To help people get acquainted with Pastor Nic, he preached in the Worship Service, met with the staff, taught a Bible study, and answered questions during two question and answer meetings.

On Sunday, March 14th, HPC members voted to call Pastor Nic as HPC’s Senior Pastor with a 93% favorable vote.  There were 193 total ballots submitted (absentee included), in which 179 persons voted 'yes', 13 voted 'no', and 1 abstained.  Pastor Nic formally accepted the position that Sunday afternoon with an expected start date in early June.

Thank you all for your participation, support, and most importantly, prayers for the Pastoral Search Team, elders, and Pastor Nic and his family.  Please continue to lift HPC up in prayer as we enter this time of transition, and please also lift up Pastor Bill Lerch and Karen as they seek God’s next plan for them.
