Congratulations on your engagement! We want to thank you for considering us in this important process. The location of the ceremony is certainly high on the list of priorities, but nothing can outweigh the benefits of premarital preparation, the effects of which will last a lifetime.
HPC does not look at marriage from a secular point of view. We care so deeply about this journey that we want ensure couples are as prepared as possible before their wedding. Therefore, marriage preparation is required and must be completed before the wedding date. However, you do not need to complete a marriage preparation process at High Point Church to be married here, just so long as you complete an appropriate marriage preparation course. Consequently, you may ask a pastor of your own choosing to perform the marriage ceremony as long as you have completed the prerequisite of an appropriate premarital course.
If you have any questions or wish to move forward with a wedding here at HPC, please call our Building Scheduler, Katrina Boyd, at (608) 836-3236, ext. 127.
Use of Our Facility: Since our purpose is to establish Christian marriages in the context of a loving community, weddings are reserved only for individuals who are committed followers of Christ. Priority for use of High Point Church facilities will be given to Church functions and regularly involved members or attenders. Due to the unavailability of staff, High Point Church will not host weddings one week before Christmas Eve until one week after New Year’s Day, Easter weekend, Mother’s Day weekend, Memorial Day weekend, Father’s Day weekend, Independence Day weekend, Labor Day weekend, and Thanksgiving Day weekend. High Point Church does not rent out the facility for wedding rehearsal dinners.
Wedding Application Process: Plan as early as possible, so use of the church facilities can be arranged without conflict. Due to staff and facility commitments, weddings may not be possible on or around certain holidays or annual conference events.
Premarital Counseling: We require each couple to attend premarital counseling sessions. For this reason you will want to start this process at least six months before your wedding. Approval of an officiating pastor other than a High Point Church pastor must be obtained before proceeding with definite plans.
Wedding Coordinator: Our Wedding Coordinator will help you with High Point Church wedding resources, rehearsal staging, and your ceremony. You will be assigned a host(ess), who will provide access to the building, as well as helpful information and service.
