Adult Christian Education
HPC offers many different Adult Christian Education opportunities.

Adult Bible Fellowships

Adult Bible Fellowships (ABFs) are mid-sized classes (5-50 adults) which combine both “Bible” and “Fellowship” during the 70 minutes that they meet, on Sunday mornings after Worship Celebration (10:50 a.m.).
We are currently have five groups, each with their own set of hosts and teacher. The hosts facilitate the group during a time for getting to know one another, for praying for one another, and caring for one another.
Adequate time will be given for a meaningful, interactive lesson from the Scriptures. This takes the form of either a Bible-book study or a topical study.
We are excited about the potential for those who participate to grow deeper in their relationship with Jesus Christ, together as family.

Winter 2010 Bible Fellowship Class Offerings

Bible Study for All Ages (Bill Taylor & Bill Stevenson, leaders)
Starting in February, you will have two options for Bible Study for All Ages: The Gospel of Mark or Acts and Life of Paul.

Manuscript Study (Mark Finley, leader) - Book of Hebrews
Manuscript Study is an in-depth, text-level interactive study of the Book of Hebrews. The class begins with prayer, then launches into a time of individual study, followed by small group discussion, and concludes with full class analysis of the passage.
God speaks to the class through His living Word as members share their insights and observations with one another.
Manuscript Study will continue with the Book of Hebrews through January; a new book will be started in February and will be announced soon!

Sermon - Take Two
This study is open to all, but is primarily designed for those who serve in the Nursery and/or Children’s Ministry during the Worship Service. Pastor Bill’s sermon will be video-recorded and played back That Very Sunday. If you missed it or want to experience it again, this is the ABF for you. There will be follow-up questions and discussion, to learn and apply what has been taught just minutes earlier.

The Truth Project (Fran Diederich, leader)
The Truth Project is a DVD-based small group curriculum taught by Dr. Del Tackett, that practically and personally introduces viewers to the truth claims of God. This study is the starting point for looking at life from a biblical perspective. Each lesson discusses in great detail the relevance and importance of living the Christian worldview in daily life.
In a recent study, the Barna Research Group revealed a stunning statistic that continues to reverberate throughout the evangelical world. Only 9 percent of professing Christians have a biblical worldview.
Because of this, today’s believers live very similarly to non-believers. A personal sense of significance is rarely experienced, we spend our money and time on things that fail to satisfy and we begin to wonder what life’s ultimate purpose really is. We are, in short, losing our bearings as a people and a nation.
To counter this slide within the body of Christ, Focus on the Family is launching one of the most ambitious and powerful projects in the history of its ministry — The Truth Project. The class continues through the end of March.

Discovery Class
Discovery Class is the place to start to learn more about Christianity in general, and the first step on the way to membership at High Point. More details are below. The next Discovery Class will start on January 17 during ABFs.

Discovery Class
New class starts on January 17 during ABFs!

Ever get stuck on questions about your faith?  Wish you had a better grounding in the basics of what you believe?  Want a better answer than “I was raised that way?”  Interested in possibly joining HPC?

If any of these apply to you, come check out Discovery! Discovery is the ideal place for you to come, ask questions, and get answers. Through an interactive class time, you will have the chance to truly explore the very foundations of your faith… or ask questions if you’re just curious about Christianity.

If you are interested in becoming a member of High Point Church, Discovery is a required class, along with Membership Class.
