Global MissionsThe GMT is responsible for managing the “missionary support” portion of the budget, financial and spiritual support needs, care and prayer for the HPC sponsored local, national, international missionaries, and individuals participating in short-term missions teams. If you have a strong vision for reaching the most unreached peoples and want to partner with our supported missionaries by praying and caring for them, please join the GMT, which meets monthly. Dominican Republic PartnershipHPC's last DR Trip will be on July 31-August 8, 2010, as our mission goals have been accomplished. The Dominican Republic Partnership is a unique partnership between High Point Church (HPC), Food for the Hungry (FH) and the community of Los Botados, Dominican Republic (DR). This partnership, which High Point Church began in 2000, is known as the “DR Partnership.”
This ministry is lay led and overseen by an advisory committee from the HPC congregation. The ministry is 100% funded through individual donations. The DR Partnership is holistic in its approach, striving to provide for the spiritual and physical needs of the community of Los Botados. Since 2000, Los Botados has experienced a great many changes through the DR Partnership, some of which are:
- Sponsorship of 160-170 children in Los Botados ($32/month)
- Send yearly short-term work teams from HPC to Los Botados
- Construction (labor/finance) of many latrines
- Construction (labor/finance) of an elementary school
- Construction (labor/finance) of a school kitchen, which now serves a meal to 700 children every day
- Finance multiple water wells to provide clean water
- Present Gospel to hundreds of children and families
- Provide medical clinics during several short-term trips to Los Botados
- Provide pastoral/theological training to pastors across Dominican Republic
- Help community solve own problems
- Provide hope and love!
